Back here in illinois its freezing again and we had lots of freezing rain this weekend. well im at college and went out to get into my truck(2000 chevy silverado) and the locks were frozen shut. I used my spare key and tried to get the door open and the key ended up snapping off inside the lock. Just wandering if anyone had any ideas on how i can go about getting the key back out of there so i dont have to pay a ton of money to have someone else do it.

the guys key snapped off inside of the lock, while trying to open up his door.... so why should he have gotten a remote start?

i think he ment keyless entry, a remote start would have nothing to do with the key getting stuck.

Yeh unfotunately my keyless entry hasnt worked for about a year. the sensor went bad for it so it was gona cost a pretty good penny to fix that so i never got around to it. I guess im gona have to bring the truck to a locksmith and have the key taken out.

Remote start, so he starts his car then gets his key broke then can't turn his car off till it runs out of gasoline, then runs his battery to nothin when the engine dies, great idea.

Get in the other side and take the lock out, then fish it out, with a small drill bit drill in it then cock it sideways and pull it out, you won't be able to get behind it because of the pins unless its something sharp.
