I use the TUSK "HD" Clutch kit with Honda CR500R Clutch springs. $57 shipped from rockymountainatv :).

I actually use 3 of the HD Kit springs, and 3 of the Honda CR500R springs....every other spring.

Its been working great for me. I use Rotella-T 15W-40 NON-Synthetic oil in the clutch side as well.

thats good to hear about the clutck kit being good. What's the difference in the springs? Why do you use the cr springs.
thanks for the reply

The CR500R springs are much stiffer...for more positive engagement....NO SLIPPING :).

I had Brian @ WPP Racing put my clutch in....it was on a dyno day (his link is in my sig). He also did a couple mods to the clutch as well...some sort of judder spring mod I believe. If you contact him, he'll give you the whole down low on the clutch mods :).

You also may be wondering why only 3 CR500R springs and 3 HD Springs....why no all CR500R Springs right? Those things are stiff! You can use all 6 CR500R Clutch springs...but the clutch becomes a good bit harder to pull in. 3 and 3 seems to be doing a great job....and its not too hard on the hand.

I have one in right now with no problems. Have about 3 two hour races on it and about 6 hours of practice.

I use their plates with my Rekluse clutch. Haven't had any problem yet with them.

I think stock Honda replacment parts are the way to go...

Yea, Honda plates are great, but they are also about 5 times the price. I am happy with the abuse my Tusk has taken especially for the money it cost.

I had it in for about 3 hrs of racing, and it was basically junk. I am very hard on my clutches though. I only use HINSON and Honda parts now.

I had one in my 400ex, and it was fine for a while, but after a little time it started sticking together after I shut it off and let it cool completely down. Once I would try and start it back up again, it would creep forward with the clutch pulled all the way in and me pressing the starting button. After initial startup and it got warmed up it never did it the entire time I rode it, it was just on start up. I guess if that doesn't bother you its still a very cheap replacement. It held up fine and never really slipped on me even with that little problem. I guess you get what you pay for.

how hard do you guys run your quads. I know I am extremely hard on mine with alot of 2nd gear start drag racing and tons of hill climbin on the coal hills. I am amazed at the strength of the stocker it has taken so much abuse its unreal. If the tusk is as strong I'll be really suprised.

The part about that creeping when you try to start it is related to the judder spring try this link to see about it.
