400EX front suspension

It's a really mixed opinion on this, but it seems like it's just fine unless you're a full out racer. I'm personally running it on my project quad. You can do the whole setup for $200-$300.

Also it's supposed to be about 4" wider total.

ya i would do the 400ex suspension. I used 250r a-arms and DVX 400 shocks and with that plus the new shock mount it ran me at an even $100.

You will have to buy new tierods or extend them like i did. If you have a welder just cut the tie rod put in a spacer and weld it back together.

For the guy that asked about the shocks. YOu could used them but you will need to get them reserviced because 400ex a-arms are 2 inches wider.

wheel spacers just make your handling worse, your turning radius will be terrible, best way to make your quad widder is with differant arms. i would only use wheels spacers in the rear, and even then i still wouldnt trust them if you jump at all

Hey, that's true. I never even thought of that. Thanks for the great input.

i have been racing on rear wheel spacers for 3 years and have had no problems. i race mx and i have seen stock axles bend and after markest ones break and still have not had any problem with mine. i do the biggest jumps my 300ex can do. For the front end go with the 400ex a-arms or look for cheap 300ex a-arms.

do the rear wheel spacers first and see how you like it. Widening the rear makes a much bigger improvement in handling then widening the front because the rear is a straight axle. It's almost like having a swaybar installed. If you do the 400EX a-arms then you have to get new tie rods. It's not really worth extending your stock ones because the tie rods are only around $4.00 each from Service Honda.

And for the guy who asked about using his 300EX Works shocks, you can use them but your front end will sit at least 2" lower than stock even if you have them re-valved. The best bang for the buck is the stock 400EX shocks with the bolt on relocator kit. Used aftermarket 400EX shocks would be a good alternative.
