Hi! Possible first time ATVer here. I have been looking at a 1996 Ploaris Trailblazer 400CC. It is an automatic, pull and electric start and has reverse. Seems to be in perfect condition. Low hours. Everything works. I am just looking to do a few trails out behind my house. The trails are a little muddy and rocky, but guys with 300EXs go out there with out an issue. Not really going to do any racing. I am looking for an ATV that has some get up and go and that is fun. Is this something that would work for me? I would think that with 400CC it would have some kick to it. Any pros or cons? Thanks!

Thanks for the reply. It is in great shape. No, I have never ridden one. The only quad I have ever ridden was a Polaris HO 500 and I thought that was fast! The rocks on the trails are not big at all and most of the can me avoided. I would say none are bigger than 5". There is no real asking price. He wants to trade it for a car trailer that I have for sale, actually I want to trade the trailer for it. I would put a value of maybe $1500 on my trailer. The Trailblazer just had a full tune up and some new parts, but will need a battery (big deal). What would you say it would be worth?

first off this is probably faster than the 500 90 % garenteed if its running good. the rocks well be no problem just watch for the rear brake dont want to bend that. the first thing i would do if i was looking at the quad was get a ride on it and see and smell how its running cuz its 2 stroke so you have to be kinda careful. you should find out what the new parts are if you dont know already and most importantly if you like it get it. and for this quad my guess is probably about 3000 - 4000 (u.s money) hard to say
canadaina money maybe a little more not a lot

hope you make the right choice

p.s forgot to say welcome to the site
