We had a good days riding,it was VERY cold, snow and ice so riding was pretty mellow-plus the course is a rather mellow course to begin with.
we decided to take the kids out for a days riding to our local winter MX track, track weas in pretty bad shape and ruts were pretty frozen over....
We need to work on the jetting, maybe change the needle. She started off pretty rough but got better as the day went. Its going to take her a little getting used to how to keep it in the power
and yet,she over revs at times too.. lol
I was pretty inpressed with the cooling... It never got past 149degrees and it stayed so cool that the entire day you could check the plug and it was barely warm!

Brandon and kelsey done some practie off the line he got her a few times, she tried 2nd gear starts and 1st gear, found 1st gear works better. The old tires SUCK she had NO TRACTION and wouldnt hook up until about 2rd gear and 3rd gear and would just spin. After some practice she got better and got Brandon to the hole. Still need to work on the rear shock and may have to send it off, but the front end handled alot better than we both thought it would, both are still managablel to race, but the rear has to go at some point.
We also removed the airbox, it doesnt fit right ,we will have to find a new intake boot so in the mean time it will be ran direct to the Carb.
We froze our butts off, but the kids had fun riding :)
nothing too impressive for pics but I thought I would still share a few .
Tomorrow they have no school, so Dads taking them on the trails and that will be thelast day of practice before race season gears up.:huh

traction is tough enough on this track due to all its sand, but the ice and snow was def a toughy for the few few hours to ride on.

Looks like everyone had a lot of fun. Im sure you already gave it some thought, but what about grooving those tamers? Might give it better traction.

We have a set of groomed tamers,we like them but not the best choice I dont think for this application. We have a groover so who knows! We might give it a whirl ;)
Personally I think the LTR radials are the PERFECT tire for her both front and rear :)

We have the new tires, just waiting on the wheels that some some reason are taking 7-10 days :ermm: We didnt want to run the rears until all 4 was put on.

Today was a fun day. It will take a few rides to get used to it, but i will try to learn fast. If it weren't for my Dad and E-ATV-racing I wouldn't have been riding today.

Yes and No... We dont like it much either..thats the bad thing about his set up and thats why he is switching quads in less than two weeks to dual Aarms/LT shocks.
We cant get the same adjustments like we was able to on my Daughters Kasea . If we adjust it differently, then we have another evil so were making an upgrade.

MUCH BETTER in traction, but I think herweight is part of the problem cause Troy can hook up like a MAD MAN on it :p I liek the look of the rears but WOW-the fronts look HUGE!:eek2:
I think we will be making a gear change as well and still cant remedy the blubber on the jetting so were in search of a dif needle I think

I will ;) I should have ALOT of this series, prol. more than Harlen wants :o lol

Im sure we will be doing LOTS of changes on gearing ,tires possibly(alough I think these tires are SAWEET!) she is REALLY struggling with traction, might be a little tougher on a 2 stroke too maybe.
But yes, its all about some solid seat time.
If it would ever warm up abit we might be able to ride more:ermm:
Come spring I doubt we will be home much :p
Especially since BOTH kids will be on new quads this year.

try lowerin the @$$ end of the bike more to get it to squat, and a 1 in. shorter swingarm would help to as long as she is not wheelieing it all the time now, because it will be worse with a shorter swinger. but if it doesn't wheelie easy, then i would go with a shorter swingarm....that will halp alot too

She got a horrible start but finished in 3rd after playing catch up
not bad for not having much seat time !
