He is on a Yamaha. He is still a few feet short, he had some traction problems. The 188' jump in Heuvos 9 is a down hill jump, 149' is the ramp to ramp record

An update on the jump. With the new runway, last weekend, Kolton was able to hit the jump in 5th gear. He over shot the landing ramp and flat landed at 171'. The axle snapped but he rode it out and was fine. With a borrowed axle the next day he was completing 155' to 160'.

It doesnt count since his axle snapped? I think he deserves credit for the 171'

What is the record now for longest jump?

Does it matter that it is downhill for 188'?

Im not sure of all the specifics, this is all info I have read about ...

They talked to stunk junkies, but they backed off when they found out he is under 18.
Last he heard H-Bomb was still coming up on the weekend of the 20th to film him jump. They couldn't come this weekend because it's Wes Miller's B-day.QuadJockeys may be getting some footage as well.

If I had the proper setup I'd definently take a stab at it. Hell i'd even try doing that jump doing 60 mph.

No.

01-14-2007, 12:20 PM
Couple questions.. how old is he? Is that a local park or is that a croud going to watch him do this jump?

I think hes got some balls to hit that... Dosent seem like youd have to be pro to hit it..yes its big but i think it would mostly be balls. (not trying to sound big.. i woudent attempt it on a quad)

Honda#4
01-14-2007, 12:28 PM
I'm serious, if anyone made that jump by me I definently would hit it doing 60.

I know that, would hit it with a 450 of some sort and with the best suspension. I can ride good, i know this is off topic but the first jump I ever hit on a quad was a 40' double and nailed it on the first try. I know that it doesn't even come close, but I'll tell ya i'm not afraid to hit a jump that big.

Jumping a quad is scary, scary is a type of fear, fear can be overcomed, my piont is if you have the confidence in yourself to do something like that just go out and do it, there's always a risk involved.

Nick110
01-14-2007, 01:09 PM
Honestly I still dont think you would. You might talk like you would but when you get to a jump like that in person its a whole different story.

Do you even know how to correct it if something goes wrong?

krt400ex
01-17-2007, 01:37 PM
whatever guys, elkas are nice shocks. and i have never had the opportunity to hit anything that is very large because i have never been to a track, but i have gone about 45 ft(go ahead and laugh) on a takeoff that is soooo rutted that no1 i kno or ride with is able to get more than 25 ft off of it. im not bragging.... imjust saying that i woulsn't be afrais to jump that... it looks fun

Nick110
01-17-2007, 01:43 PM
If you have never had the chance to see or roll up a huge jump/gap like that you have no idea what its like. It is a lot more intimidating when you roll up a lip like that or even roll a jump that big. I have jumped a little over 100ft and its crazy. For the people who have raced Unadilla and hit the skyshot they know how gnarly huge jumps are.

krt400ex
01-17-2007, 01:46 PM
i don't get scared easily is all im saying. i would definately give it a shot after working my way up...obviously not from where i am now, but i would....and doubles aren't that hard at all. after u get some practice and can learn how to judge your speeds for the conditions u can hit anything

01-17-2007, 01:47 PM

Cuz you are just so darn contradictable. And so often too.

:)

When you say something like "I wouldn't be afraid of that jump...." ...I mean come on, its laughable.

Its like saying "a broken collar bone wouldn't hurt me."

no offense or anything...but then why would you, in one way or another, tell someone(as in me) that a jump like that is nearly impossible for most people?

No offense taken.

I didn't say its impossible for you, or for most possible.

I said its IMPOSSIBLE you wouldn't be afraid to do it.

I forget who said it, but there a saying that goes like this - "Valor is performing your duty despite the fear."

No man is free of fear. Some can perform great feats DESPITE the fear.

But to say you wouldn't be afraid is not reasonable. I don't doubt you'd be willing to TRY the jump. But I guarantee you you'd be afraid while doing it.
