I drove my quad up my driveway today, first time in like a month. And ohh man was that clutch slipping up a storm.

I ran moble1 15-40 full synthetic, and just riecently swaped to rotella full synthetic 5w-40. I dont think this to be the issue..

It was on fresh oil change, I warmed the quad up and noticed in 3rd gear I wasent going fast and my revs wher climbing in a hurry.

The clutch has mabie 20 hours tops of abuse on it. Lots of pavment, dounuts, wheelies. All the normall abuse. And its a OEM clutch so I was told when I bought it from pappy.

Any tips here? Im thinking at this point my fibers are probly fried, and stiffer springs are porobly needed soon.

I have a slip on pipe, HC stage 2, filter, no air box lid.

just ride it around easy for a little bit. Sounds likes the plates are sticking together.

Rotella 5W-40 Synthetic wouldn't be my first choice for the clutch side.....

If you happen to purchase another clutch....

use Rotella-T 15W-40 NON-Synthetic.....

or 80/85W Honda HP Tranny Oil.....

Two great oils for clutch longevity :).

If the plates are sticking together it would not slip and still would try to move with the clutch pulled in.

Try not using an automotive synthetic oil... you probably need an entire new clutch pack... make sure to soak the fibers before you put them in the quad... and definitely upgrade the springs.

yes full synthetic in clutch side would be why you are having problems

10-4. I will start by flushing that oil out and going back to what?

I heard the honda oil is kinda crappy and breaks doun fast. or is that only as far as the engine side is concerned.
