How many of you are running a 416 11:1 without the hd studs and how is it holding up?

a little off topic,my 400 has a 440 kit with a 11:1 piston with the stock head studs and it has been togeather for 4 years with NO problems at all.

I tried it mine only lasted about 10 hours before they started to pull out and blew the head gasket. If you are going to have the engine apart why not just do it right? the extra cost is minimal.

If ridden long and hard it will eventually fail,send the head off to gt thunder to have heavy duty head studs installed.

I'm still running the stock head studs in my stroker. No problems yet, w/close to 100 hours on it.

i ran my 416 with a 11:1 in it for 2 years and some change before i sold it, it never had any problems
