My LSR does the same thing. I just un clamp it and put some grease in it every noe and then, and deal with it.

nick beat me to it.

still shouln't be any play...but they probably want you to by thier clamp, so they don't make it work with the stock stuff.

i don't know if that's goinf to fix the play in stem.i have a burgard and it does the same thing after a few rides.i looked at a gibson stem and it nice and tight.thats my next step.

whats wearing out the stem or the bushing? it really doesnt make any sense why it would wear out so fast.

i don't think it's wearing.i think it's flexing in the tube assembly.

Take the stock bushing and flip it upside down and it will fix the problem. Don't ask me why it just does. I have done this on several quads and it works. If you dont want to do that the Houser stem doesn't do this, and Lonestar makes a new clap that fixes the problem as well.

I have a LSR stem and their clamp and it still has play. If I put in a new bushing, grease it well....it lasts about three rides and has play again:(

I use their clamp and after a couple of rides it has play again. I think I am going to try one of those OMI clamps.

Rath Racing makes a real nice stem too. No play on mine after a year.

And don't bet on the Omi product solving your problem...yes it is a nice design but my Raptor had the same thing and it got loose in no time....so I bought another and it went quicker than the first. The good news is you can keep greasing it so hopefully you won't notice.

Funny now that I think about it. My Chevy truck needs to have the steering shaft lubed once a year too.

There is a long story for this problem but i will keep it short. We ordered custom stem material to fit the bushing perfectly. One item was over looked and that was the tolerance that they hold on making the material was to large. So some people ended up with a stem that has some play and some that need a break in period. This is not right what so ever. We have a new billet stem clamp that fix’s this problem. The clamp will cost you nothing what so ever. As for future stems sold, we now use a larger material and machine ever one down to size to insure a perfect fit to the bushing. I am extremely sorry for you having this inconvenience and hope you understand we do stand behind our products 100%. Please call if you need more information.

Glad I read this thread. I called Lonestar today, and talked to a lady, and she told me I have to buy the clamp. So I hung up and called Dan's ext., and he got me one and shipped her out for free. Thanks Dan!!
