Hey everyone, I joined this thread b/c I need some help with my 87 250R. I recently rebuilt the motor and put went .020 over on the bore with boyesen reed cage and fmf fatty gold exhaust. I'm running the stock carb and can't get it to idle, and when I take off it stutters real bad like it's loaded up with fuel. It has no bottom end/ mid range power but runs pretty good at wot. I've went to a 145 main jet and went from a 48 to a 42 on the piolet? I'm not sure if it was 48 or 38 starting size but I went down 6 from stock. I still can't get it running right and wondered if I should go to an aftermarket carb or what. I don't know the first thing about these quads but figured someone on here has messed with it enough to lead me in the right direction.
Please Help,
Luke

No one? Could anyone lead me in the right direction on where to find a new 36 mm carb at a good price. I'm not having much luck.
Thanks
Luke

the 87 had a 152 mainjet and a 48 pilot jet from the factory.

from www.servicehonda.com that full carb is $200 brand new

I'm not seeing anything on aftermarket carbs there. Maybe I'm missing something?

I was told with the mods it was best to get an aftermarket carb maybe a 38? Hoping someone can lead me in the right direction. These quads have been around for a long time, and someone out there has already done it. Any other places to look?
thanks
