Is the idle adjustment screw the same as the air/fuel mixture screw on a 300ex? If so which way do i turn it to make it a little bit richer?

No, they are not the same. The Idle screw is on the side of the carb. The air-fuel screw is on the bottom of the carb, it is pointing down towards the engine, if you look close, you can see it. To make it richer, turn the screw out.

Here is a little more detail, It is towards the front of the carb (engine side) It's a brass-looking screw that is sort of in a little hole, you will know it when you see it.:) Oh yea.. counter-clockwise is out.:D

Is it in a little slot behind the idle screw with a flathead screw? If so, mine only turns about 1/2 a turn. After turning it, now when i rev it it makes a little high pitched decell noise that it didn't make before. I turned it back and it still does it. Any ideas?
