I really didn't rebuild anything. I just got some new parts and did some powder and rhino lining.

Yea Tim your in need of a longer stem the stocker don't cut it when you have a IMS tank on. I should know my stock stem was bent a a bit and it put in two nice gouges in my $200 tank, really ticked me off.

If you don't want to spend $200 and up on a stem might I suggest the ROX handle bar risers they work great and they are cheaper too.

I love my Roll Design stem expensive as hell but it works great.

Yea it sure is. I have over 3 grand in my bike and you can't even notice it and I never even touched the motor yet or suspension, well except for the swingarm.

I have my 400ex tore down right now. Engine rebuild, frame paint, Engine polish and maybe paint. I'll get you all some pics later. But what all should be lock tighted at re-assembly?

I used loc tite on about everything mounting wise. I also used never sease (sp) on some parts like my nerf bolts and such.

What about swingarm, shock, and linkage? Obviously not in the bearing but on the threads?

tim colston

Loctite all of those imo. those are def. nuts you don't want coming off from vibration.

Ya, I guess it wouldn't be good for those bolts to rattle out. I will locktite all my stuff on reassembly. Which is getting pushed back cause my parts are taking forever to get here and when they do get here I am going on vacation. But at least when I get back I will have everything and can get back to work.

What did you use to paint your rims? That looks really good.

Thanks,
Kaleb

tim colston

I actually used a form of rhino coat bed liner. I am not sure how well they will hold up. I may end up having to powder coat them.

kalebarellano
01-26-2007, 06:16 PM
Does it seem like it bonded ok? I really like black rims. I will probably do something like this, or pc in the future. How did you prep the rims? Sandblaster? Paint Etcher?

kalebarellano
01-30-2007, 08:49 PM
Hey, hows that rhino lining holding up on your rims?

Thanks

Hey how did the rhino lining hold up?

tim colston
02-12-2007, 11:52 AM
It seems to hold up well. I really need to take it out and run it hard through the woods. the freaking weather will not cooperate with me so I am just waiting for a day to go.
