Would a footpeg with a little bit of suspenson be a good idea?

IMO... no because when im racing, id like to know that my feet are going to be planted in the same spot for most of the race (much more consistent feel). also, it would raise the cost of the bike itself and that would mean that there is one more thing to go wrong.

Yes, its called "suspension" and most every quad has it.

I would say yes, but not if it was all crazy and overcomplex. I dont see why you couldn't like rubber mount some pro-pegs with some stiff rubber. Any little shock absorption would help I would think.:macho

Something like the flexx bars for pegs would be cool. Different bushings for different tensions. I like it. ;) It would have to be VERY minute though. If it flexed too much it would feel unstable.

Foot pegs are the one thing I'd want ultra rigid on an atv. If they flexxed while you were leaning into turns going through a rutted corner it could get pretty ugly.

if they were sharp enough and didn't flex TOO much then i'd buy a pair if the price was right.

like said, every little bit helps. especially on long rides.

I say no, I like to have a solid plant for my feet. Also, what would you do w/ the nerfs that bolt up to the peg:confused: does that mean flexing nerf bars? No thank you.

i agree with lance, ill stick to a solid peg

bad idea, what would happen when the peg flexed, the end would dive and your foot would slide, preloading would suck, whoops, ill keep super rigid, wide sharp pegs

How about boots with suspension.
Nike should make mx boots with a shox sole similar to their shox shoes.

Don't forget that they would also be made in China by children with knarled fingers.:)

Yea the suspension in the pegs are kind of a bad idea. I like it also that my feet are in the same spot the whole race. But i like how my 3-wheeler has springs on the peg so when I hit a big rock or somethin, the pegs moves up so it dont bend the peg or have the peg get caught.

it would make shifting kind of hard when the peg and your foot are bouncing all over the place

just because they have suspension doesn't mean they need to have SOFT suspension.

maybe something that you wouldn't ever notice until you jumped + landed hard or wrong.

alright heres the only way i could see it working. the nerf bar would not have the peg welded to it, the nerbar would have a flat spot were the peg usually is then ontop of the flat spot could be a peice of rubber about 1/2 in thick then ontop of the rubber have a foot peg that would sit ontop of the rubber then have 2 bolt going through the peg and rubber and nerf. it could use harder or softer peices of rubber depending on your weight

OH MY GOD. I was just thinking about this the other night after i realized that there are a ton of products out to help with rider fatigue... i.e. Flexx bars, anti-vibe bar ends, anti vibe stems, steering stabilizers, Houser wrist rester, vibration absorbing grips. You would not be able to put them on any type of pivot... they would have to move straight up and down and they would not be able to move very far. Also, they would need to be fail-safe because if one would break and come apart... VERY bad things would happen. If someone would come up with a good design, patent it, and sell a good product at a good price, I am sure that they could make a lot of money.
