Rust Removal

Do I need to apply any chemicals to aid rust removal from steel parts. I intend to brush them clean to prep for painting and want to make sure I remove all of the rust I can.

The most effective way is with some sort of media blasting like sand blasting but most don't have access to that sort of thing.

You can buy a product at Walmart and any hardward store called Naval Jelly. You let it sit on a rusty part for a while and it slowly dissolves the rust. Then you buff it off and wash, it is simple and effective but definitely not the MOST effective method of rust removal.
