about how much would it be for car insurance for a 2000 mustang GT (black) for me (first car, 17 years old) under my dads name. My dad has never been into an accident and i have good grades also.

Your best bet is to call; I doubt many here are insurance adjusters.

Im looking at around $3600 a year for a 4 door sedan. Pretty much the same situation as you, (under dads name, age, etc..)

my '89 toyota pickup is only $75 a month for liability. im 19 and have been in one wreck that was my fault. im not under my parents name or anything. $you kids are crazy for paying so much for insurance

I spend 1200$ for 6 months of inshurance liability only on a 95 ford ranger.

Why so much? Because I'm 17 and have 3 speeding tickets two that are within a month of each other. Yes I have learnt my lesson.


I dident event look up how much it would be for my 96 mustang. I figure it stays parked for a cupple more years at least. Moastly to keep me out of troble!!!



A dumb kid that I know ( no its not me) has a mitsubishi eclipse v6 or somthing. Anyways, he pais like 5k for full coverage inshurance for it. And he has to have full coverage because he has a loan on it. What a waste!!!

yeah..my car is old..88 cavalier..only cost me 62 a month under my dad so im not complaining for a first car

^ isnt the insurance rate in MA going down though. Mine is wicked cheap but i suppose it has something to do with what you drive v.s. what i drive :p ..my car is crap

There are too many variables to venture a guess. It depends on where you live, how many accidents happen in your zip code, how many cars are stolen in your area, your diving record, etc... The only way to know is call your insurance agent and ask.

ive been dropped by two agencies in the last 4 years. my max payout for a month was 650.00 i paid that for a year in a half and just got it down to 300.00 a month for liability. dont screw around like me. 6 car accidents and 24 moving violations will f ur life up....

I pay $3000 a year for a 2001 Tundra here in Florida.... I have to have full coverage on it tho because I make payments on it... What really sucks is the fact that it went up from $2400 last year to $3000 this year and i didn't get any tickets, most likely it's because of the hurricanes, which is BS, but whatever works....

I paid $115 for a supercharged 2000 GT :D with State farm thats at 21 yrs old.

When I was 17 I had a 94' GT and I paid $300 a month... I'd say your gonna be paying anywhere from $200-400. Like others said theres to many variable though...

Since I first started driving my insurance has been pretty cheap.

My first vehicle a 95 ford ranger 2x4 with a 4 banger..... basic cheap insurance ...$375... A YEAR!!!

Second vehicle 97 ford ranger 4x4 extended cab 4.0 v6....basic insurance + comprehensive + glass.....
...$420... A YEAR!!!

When I originally called for a quote the first time with my 95 they told me $1700 a year under my parents....the bills started coming in and its a little off from that original quote!:D I called and asked if they were making a mistake and they said "nope" so I left it at that.

im 18 drive a 2001 jetta 1.8t, so $3800 is an insane amount of money for insurance.

I'm under my parents inshurance too, I have a 93 cavalier, as the 3rd car on the policy, and my other car, an 86 Regal. The cavalier is a little over 1000 a year, and the Regal, 307 or so dollars a year, cause it's not considered a daily driver. Both of those are just comp. If the Regal was under just my name, it would be about 2000 a year.

My friend has a fox body mustang, and he's paying something like 2200 a year under just his name.
