i'm helping my brother put a esr480 big bore on his 04 450r we will send it to neil @ c-leigh for port work and install a cam and jet kit. any opinions on what cam to go with??? also what else should we do while we have the motor apart??? he already has a full hmf exhuast and uni filter.

im not sure about the cams out there. but i run hottcam stage 2 and it made a hell of a differance on my bike. but it depends where you want your power to be. the stage 2 puts it at mid to high. but that where i wanted it. and im going to run it in my 500 kit.:macho

yeah the r has plenty of bottom so mid to high something for drags but also fun in the woods. who makes the 500 and how much is it??

what other big bore would you guys suggest looking into?? has any one tried the esr big bore? how about the ahtena kits on ebay for $600??

The ESR kits are very nice. 480cc at around 12.5:1 with a 3-ringer Wiseco....great reliability.
DASA also makes a nice big bore kit. 12:1 500cc.
I believe the Athena kit is only 10.7:1 at 480cc.

i wonder why esr doesn't have the 480 big bore on their web site?? thats more than likely what we will get but i will chaeck out dasa. And after esr gave me the run around on my act250r pipe and had me waiting for at least a month i really would like to go some where else but then again... i do like their products.
