im thinkin of gettin a quad for my west virginia trip to hatfield mccoy in june, thinkin of gettin the wolverine 450 since it is pretty reliable and amazing ground clearance for a strait axle but dont know cause i want something that could hit mud and chew it without spending exaughsting time yanking it out and sweating and could pull up a hill with moderate ease

The SO wanted something fun and 4x4 so when it came to mud she didn't have to worry. So we got her a Wolverine and I wasn't all that impressed.

It may try to be sporty, but it really isn't. Plus its too heavy. Getting any kind of air bottoms it out. Wheelies on the thing are brutal cause it comes down super hard all the time. Plus being so heavy makes steering it a workout. She'd ride for less than an hour and quit.

I finally convinced her to move to a 250ex. Now shes out there riding for hours. Getting a little air and wheelieing every now and then. Plus the steering doesn't wear her out. Its much lighter and more fun. She tells me all the time how much she loves that thing.

I see you have a 125cc and 250cc dirtbike. I think you need something like a 400ex to be happy after riding those. A Wolverine is going to feel like a cross between a tank and a turtle after those bikes. A 400ex is more along the line of something you'd be happy with.

if u like speed on the trails, go with the trx450R or i heard the raptor 700r was good too.

the raptor 700 has awesome power for trails. I feel like it is one of the best all around trail quads out there as long as you keep the wheels down. The stock tires imo handle up fairly well to muddy conditions. If i were to choose a all around having fun quad i would choose the raptor 700 for the pure enjoyment of the power and the rideablitiy on the trails.

The rear tires on the 700r are the worst ive ever seen on a stock unit. They are super soft 2 ply, that hooks up very little. I had mine for 2 months and had a total of 5 plugs in them, 2 in the left, 3 in the right, and a tube in the left.
