ways to find out if there is a lein on a machine??

I am looking into a machine and want to find out if there a lein on it. I dont know if i trust the seller so I wanted to check using the vin.


any suggestions??

see if he has the title for it and see if there is any lein holders listed on it.

the title will have a lein listed right on the front if it does.

you can also call your bank with the vin and have them check it for you.

he doesnt have paperwork for it. I called the local dealer and they dont show a lien for it and show it was paid in cash.

I am not worried about the paperwork....i can gain ownership in NY for it.
