got me an '05 400EX for sale. bike eeds to go b4 the dirtbike i am wanting to buy gets sold.

price is $3500 OBO

it has about 100 hrs on it

no problems with the mtotr at all, runs strong, starts immediatley

slight bend in the lower right a arm, but it does not at all hinder suspension action or handling

tag X5 handlebars

Cycra handguards with wrap around aluminum mounts

Razr rear tires, Razr2 front tires

advaced timing key

K&N air filter.

oil changed all the time

bike was bought new in april of '06 as a left-over. i just decided i wanted to convert back to 2 wheels, and i found an amazing deal on a cr125

buyer pays shipping if necessary, might be able to work out a half wy point if ur not that far away from me.

i will include a complete tune up after the sale of the machine at no cost to the buyer. it will also include new carrier bearings and a new axle locknut that has a pinch bolt system so it won't come loose as easily. the reason for the tune up after the sael is because i wanted to do it b4 the sale, but i only have about $80 in my bank account, so that is not possible.

it is being sold at a friends performance shop. the # is (973) 702 7818. the shop is called case racing, and the owners name is Brad Case. his winter hrs r mon - fri 10AM to 6PM and sat. 10AM to 5PM est.

so....make some offers. thnx

those were stock 300ex tires off my dads bike. i borrowed them so i could ride while i was waiting for the razr2's. i blew the stock 400 tires out so i had nothing to ride with but the 300 tires.

thnx anyway

I'm curious to know what kind of tune up costs over $80 ? 1 spark plug, adjust valves and clean the air filter is about all there is.

im having him re torque all the nuts and bolts, new axle locknut, and new carrier bearings. its gonna be a bit more than $80...

but yea, the last one i got was about $85 from him and he cleaned the air filter, adjusted valves, changed the oil, etc...

this time its gonna be about $180, and i don't have that money right now, but i will after it is sold, so yea...

I dont consider torquing all the nuts and bolts, replacing axle bearings and installing a axle locknut to be tune up items.

well krt im gonna stand up for you on this one, tightening nuts and bolts is normal maitence, i do it on my machines, i dunno about you man, replacing axle bearings i did every year on my 400, installing an axle nut, well maybe his is rounded off some, and he takes better care of his machine than some and does preventative maitence, i guess you dont, but anyway, he just wants this bike to be top notch when he sells it. :macho

OK since you want to go there I will to. I plainly said that I dont consider that a tune up. I didnt say that ANY of that is not needed.Yes I take care of all my bikes and I fix anything wrong with them but I sure dont replace axle bearings if it doesnt need them. I guess I thought that was a high priced tune up is because I have NEVER paid anyone to clean my filter or change my oil, and never will. I was only asking him a question, not you, so calm down I wasnt argueing or trying to start anything.

it does need axle bearings, and the locknut was stripped the last time i tightened it. i forgot to say that im putting a new set of rear pads on it too(xtra $30).

any normal wear item would normally be reaplaced( or at least checked to make sure it is in spec.) during a tune-up.

could we plz not argue in this thread. i am simply handing out info to those that are interestd in the quad

I simply asked a question about the tune up. Now I know that it needs more than what I call a tune up. And yes I am looking for a 400ex. Still am. Sorry to have bothered you.

i do all the work myself also, the only cost i have is parts never any labor, the reason i replace mine yearly is because i think it is pretty cheap and when i go on long rides i dont want it falling apart on me ending my weekend or week early, heck i would be broke if i paid somebody to do all that work, motul oil is expensive enough as it is, changing it 15 hours it would be at a dealership alot, i dont trust anybody else working on my quads or bikes

you also have to figure in $50-60 an hour so its not that high actually by the time you pull the plastics and wrench a little

dang man im tryin to say that you take care of your 400, i guess you dont want me to

so if a bike needs a tune up something is wrong with it...lol seems like you would want something that has new parts on it instead of old worn out original parts

you didn't bother me, it just looked like an arguement could have started, and i was trying to prevent one.

would you like to make me an offer?

i change my oil and other simple things myself, i just would rather everything done right if im going to be sending it off to some one. not that i don't trust myself, its just that i have never done carrier bearings, so i would be learning...and i don't have the proper tools either, so i don't feel like buying the tools, just so i never use them again

it is a little tricky getting everything right esp since your changing it for the first time
