I just put some new handlebars on my 06 400ex. I would like to see some pictures of where and how the reverse and neutral light was remounted. Thanks!!

I remounted my nuetral light once l switched to race plastics. Post some pictures of yourself next to your quad and then I'll show you how its done.

Really the only option you have is somewhere below the handle bars really all you need is enough clearance behind the plastic for the wires to beable to go through and you should be good , but sure there are other places. Sorry dont have pics but have seen it done.

Weren't you ridng last saturday at sumter?

Really the only option you have is somewhere on the tank between the plastic and the tank on the side. Sorry dont have pics but have seen it done.

Heres how they were mounted on some silver maier's I bought. I personally wounldn't put them there (ugly, plus it can be hit w/ your knee) but I wasn't going to move them and have holes there.

It has the original quadtech hood. Sold the quad about 2 months ago.

I made this with a scrap piece of metal. I angled it a little, so the back of the key switch would clear the tank. Then there's my light switch, and a LED nuetral light I but to the left of the key(not in the pic).

i mounted my neutral and reverse light on the fender curve closest to the tank, and i put my ignition switch on the top of the hood. No pics tho, im way away from home and will be a few weeks. I just used a drill bit the same size as the holes that are in my console piece so they fit good.

It might be a little harder for your key switch to mount in if your using diamond plating. Just because the switch needs to sit flush so it can clamp in there.... but you could probably make it work;)

I talked to i think there user names were SoSo GoGo, and Angelon400ex, they were talking about all of your user id's. We were parked right across from them we had a white ford ranger, and a black Titan, and a grey dodge. Thats place is alot better than what we have around base, but aint nothing better than the hills of TENN!!! Got about 6 months and i'm out of active duty and going back home!!!!!

That looks really good. I just purchased a used 05 with Renthal handlebars and the owner just reused the stock plastic piece. Problem is, it doesn't fit the Renthal bars that well and comes unsnapped. I might get creative one weekend and try my hand at something like you have. How big of scrap metal should I try to find? How thick is it? I figured .020" or .030" would be about right?

I made it as small as possible, just because I think it makes it a bit more cleaner looking. But it was really easy. So just measure between your clamps and go from there. I used a vice clamp, jig saw, drill press, and some files. I'm not sure how thick it is, but it's diffenitly not flexible at all. Hope that helped a little.

Could one of these (http://trailtech.net/store/400EX-Cover.html) be used to relocate the lights and key with a Renthal bar and Houser steering stem? Here is a pic of it mounted on another 400EX.

My wife, son and I will be visiting her family in Johnson City this July. Might bring my quad and the boy's dirt bike if there's a good place to ride. Any good info?
