No it isnt, the 450 is way faster! trust me. My dads isnt stock and he raced a guy on a stock 450 and the guy on the stock 450 beat him. they switched bikes and the 450 still won.

dude c'mon man dont start the crap of which is faster, the 450 owns it on the track, i dont see alot of xc guys switching off yfz's to go to the 700, why dont you ride them all and see what you like better, we dont need to make the descision for you

No, it has a full HMF, with the Dubach computer tuner and a pro-flow intake, K&N filter...and it gets stomped by stock 450's even when they switch bikes...it still gets stomped...the 700 is just slower than the 450's...

I have rode all of them, and i can tell you from personal experience that the 450's are all faster..the 450's were designed with racing in mind. the 700 was designed with trail riding in mind...obviously the 450's are going to have much more powerful engines!

Look in my sig... The 700 will eat a 450 stock for stock. When you hit 3rd gear on a 700 say goodbye and dont look back.... And if you want to talk power, there is nothing like the brute grunt of a big bore. These are unbiased facts that I am stating. I am on a 450 kick right now because of the agility and weight difference but if you want to ride a crotch rocket with 4 wheels, ride a 700r.

Look man, I dont have the time or patience to sit her and argue with you, I know what Ive rode and what Ive seen and what Ive raced. I know what the outcomes were and the 700 raptor is slower than a YFZ,TRX, and LT-R...and Im pretty sure its goin to be slower than the KFX...BTW, did you not read my earlier posts?..my dad owns a not stock 700r and it gets eaten by stock 450s!!!:rolleyes: :ermm:

yea it would put up a good fight if the 450 was only piped,filtered, and cam mod with no suspension

Wow dude...

01-07-2007, 06:00 PM
Slo250, it depends on how modded your shee is...if you had one like MXJUNIE....i dont think a relatively stock 450 could touch you.

700bRad, i dont mind you putting in your 2 cents, thats all i was doing.

oldskool- its all good man!

i guess that awnsered everyone?:confused:

It depends on how you look at it. Stock the Raptor should take them. Slightly modified the 450s show their potential. When it comes the bigger bucks, the 700r engines is one of the best for just making power. They are designed very nice and have more potential in the long run.

The Banshee is a good bike for street racing, but that is about where it is gonna stop for the Shee. Granted they have some of the most potent engines available today for making power, they have a horrible chassis layout and are very unreliable IMO.

As for more technical areas such as the trails or MX, it comes to what you feel comfortable on. All of the bikes you listed feel very different from one another. Certain riders will naturally like the ride of one over the others.

umm..sorry, pin the shee...and dump it...it says goodbye...i havent seen a 450 that could beat a shee on asphalt...seriously, 2-strokes react so well to mods...it takes practicly nothing to make a shee really haul ***...

01-07-2007, 06:06 PM
Ok fellas, im going to end this Bull****.....the one that will beat all the others no matter what!...is...the on with the better rider!!!!:D

dude, I know...you dont have to keep explaining yourself...its the internet ok...;)

Like I said, it doesnt matter if your shee ihas 100 hp...if you cant ride it your gonna lose....whoever is the best rider is gonna win!...period!

above this you put a quote from me saying it would put up a good fight, i want to make it clear i dont think a 450 will beat a shee, in turn doing this making me look like a dumbass, respectively

01-07-2007, 06:19 PM
Shee= 82.3
YFZ=74.8
Rappy=73.7

01-07-2007, 06:21 PM
Not all shee's handle badly!....Which one do you think would win on the MX track?

A YFZ definetely cant shoot a hill like a 700r can....

IDK..my dads sits low in the back end...everytime he crests a hill the skidplate for the swinger drags...i dont like it...but then again so does the YFZ's...:ermm:

01-07-2007, 06:25 PM
In a drag race of course a raptor will wreck a yfz. There was a 700r at one race, I would poop all over him in the turns and tight sections, but in the straights he just pulled away.

Rock on.....

01-07-2007, 06:33 PM
For reliability...id go with one of the fourstroke...the shee is relatively reliable if you run the right premix in it and dont mod it to hell....that ruins the reliabilty...

My dad has owned 5 shee's...to me, there will never be anything that will replace that two-stroke howl...6th gear pinned comin down a long straight...CPI in frames...man, that is like heaven in your ears....:cool:

Even though i have a YFZ, i saw TRX450r, stock, more reliable than basically any 450 sport quad.

01-30-2007, 04:08 PM
id say pick up a used banshee for fairly cheap (compared to a new 6 grand+ quad) plus the fun factor is awsome, afterall isnt that why everyone rides anyways?:D

It really matters what kind of riding you do. I was in the same boat picking between the 450-700. I new someone with both ad I rode them both and the 450 felt better and didnt feel top heavy like the 700. and the 450 was alot faster too. I'd go with the 450

Stock for Stock

On asphaulst:
1st Raptor
2nd 450s
3rd banshee.

On the track jusr depends on rider ability and what you are confortable on. My friend had a all stock honda 450r and I watched him eat up fully decked out 450s all day.

man you shouldn't lie, we raced my friends 06 450R and 06 700r and in a 5 hydro pole race the raptor walked all over the 450r, then we did a full concession and the raptor kill the 450, and for the record it was on a lightly used paved road (safety in mind people:blah: ) and they were both stock

if all your gonna do is street and trail, id go with one of the 400's. way less money up front and require way less servicing.

it pretty much comes down to what you want out of the quad...if you want something strictly for trails, street, smooth powerband with a great top end and comfort then get a rappy 700, keep in mind your losing some potential on the track. if your going to get into any mx, want a lighter machine thats easier to throw around with better handling and just awsome acceleration, grab a 450
