headlights off....

i need to take my lights off so i can race this spring. I have an 05 yfz and i was told that i dont need to buy a reistor kit because my quad is an 05 and they fixed the 04 yfz battery problem. Is that true? Also got any racing tips. Starting out in c class.

not true,They didn't fix the problem till '06

I have an 05 and took my lights off the day I got the bike. I didnt have any battery problems till a year or so later. I ended up getting a ressistor kit just to avoid anymore problems. I would get one but its not like your bikes gunna die right when you take them off.

Yamaha will tell you that the load of the Yuasa Battery will drain ever so slowly,amps will trickle down, running with lights on here is not needed. keep in mind, you keep running the way you do,the regulator,generator will go as well. I've talked to 3 Yamaha techs and it's on the 05yfz.trust me brother, buy it.:devil:

i have a brand new electrical system, and im getting rid of my yfz in 4 days... and i put the lights back on...
