Allright well even though I dont have a 450R, I have the carb, so I figured I would post here. Anyways, I just bought a 450 carb for my 400 and I put it on and everything, but when I turned the gas on, theres a little plug that gas comes out of, and it looks like thewre was a hose there. The thing I dont know is where the hose goes! Heres some pictures, Its on the bottom left side sorta under the pilot screw.

Now I am really confused, I looked at a friends 450R and the little hole seems to just be a drain witha runoff hose, is something wrong with it?

I think the needle or float may be suck.maybe a small peice of dirt stuck in the needle holding it open

Tighten up the gold screw just to the right of it

Gold idle screw slowed it a little bit but didnt stop it so maybe the needle like JW450R1 said?

The gold screw isnt the idle. That is the drain for the bowl. If you tighten it all the way up fuel will not come out anymore

It still comes out even when It's turned all the way to the right, I know it sounds weird but it does. Could I just plug it with something removable? maybe, I have no idea.:(

Like stated above, it sounds like the needle it syuck open. You need to remove the bowl. Take the jets out and clean everything with carb cleaner. Especially the needle and seat for the float.

use gas, not carb cleaner. Carb cleaner isnt good for the piston or rings.

yeah just take it all apart and see if your float is stuck or your needle. Use carb cleaner so you can squirt it into your jets and other small areas so it could clean out. Good luck.

it is your needle sticking or you have a peice of trash causing the fuel to come out of the overflow.the fuel goes in the carb through the needle and seat and fills the float bowl. wants it gets full the float in the carb pushes the needle closed on the seat. so if theres any trash inbetween the seat and needle it will stay open and fuel will pass and cause it to overflow. use carb cleaner to clean it. carb cleaner evaporates fast. it dries buy the time you get it cleaned and put it back together it will be dry. so it wont hurt it. you might not need to even clean it out. you might be able to just take the float and needle out and blow it out and put it back together. i get away with doing that sometimes to keep from having to take the carb off the bike. hope this helps you under stand how it works.:D
