Ive got connections and i can get some tires for my truck for really cheap, but i dont know what to get. Its a 97 silverado z71, with stock 285 tires. I want a mud terrain that wears well, does good in mud, and looks good. what should i go with?

i have been looking at pro comp m/ts', cooper discoverer STT, durango m/t, and BFG m/t

My friend has a tire maybe called Mud King XT. They are pretty big tires if you get like 35's or bigger. Thick side walls, and wear down pretty slow. They do awesome in mud, unless you have little tread left, then they get stuck easily in 2wd.

265x75's is what was stock on your truck. Get the BFG MT's. They are a little pricey, but I have had good luck with them. Not too noisy and they wear pretty good. I had a set of BFG MT's 285x75's with almost 50k on them. I have three trucks with the 35" BFG's.

I've been really amazed with my Goodyear Wrangler MT/R's. I buy them from guys that take them off their Jeeps and go larger. My last set, I got all 5 for $400. Usually guys have about 1-5,000 miles on them.

The thing that has impressed me probably the most is I have gotten 40,000 miles if I keep them rotated. For a mud tire with such open voids I have been amazed. They've also been surprisingly solid on ice. Mud is where they really shine though.

I realize these weren't on your list but I thought I'd pass it on since it fits your specs. I've had more compliments with them than I can count.

I have heard lots of good things about the new Coopers (STT2s). Here is a thread from Toyota Territory Off Road Assosciation (TTORA) about these and people seem to like them. http://www.tacomaterritory.com/forum/showthread.php?t=21987
