Headunit and Ipod question

I want to hook my ipod up to my head unit. I have a Pioneer DEH-P660 headunit. I bought a Y audio cable that plugs into the ipod and has 2 rca jacks on the other end. Do those jacks have to plug into input or output jack? do headunits have input jacks?

some headunits have input jacks, some do not,,,and id yes you would use the input jacks...

Get an iTrip and it hooks up to any radio.

my head unit has an input on the front and i just use an 1/8" to 1/8" cable

i have one of the tuner things, but it sounds terrible, theres tons of static and i hate it, i want it directly connected so it comes through clear.

I got a JVC head unit and bought an accesory with it that lets me control my ipod through my head unit

what kinda of accesory is it?

it should plug into the RCA input jacks in the back of the unit, look in your manual on both your cable and your headunit, and it would probably be best to talk to a guy at best buy or circuit city, usally they are happy to help you out, and they should know about your headunit..... its there job

this is what im using works awesome best set up i have had...used FM transmitter, then a jack on the front of an old deck, now this worth every penny in my opinion...charges your ipod at the same time too

on that headunit, cant you just use the usb cord for the ipod and plug it into the headunit???

i dont think so i never tried it i bought the whole thing at the same time i think the USB can only be used to upload pictures for the background

i have the same set-up that cdale has except mine is pioneer and it sounds realy clear i love it... it is kinda expensive but well worth it
