I have heard yamaha's charging system is made so that for your voltage to stay regulated that you should leave your headlights on the quad, thats why most all the XC guys have theirs on. But if you do take them off there is some kind of regulator box that yamaha sells that you can buy and put on. This may be corrected on the new quads, but I remember when the YFZ 1st came out alot of people were pulling their headlights off for the more racey look and after a couple races they started having batteries going dead all the time ???
