z400 which stage cam with 11:1

Hey i want to get a high compresion piston perferably a 11:1 and i also would liek to get a cam... but i have a few questions how high of octane gas do you have to use with a 12:1 and what is the best stage cam to buy

well the Z is more than 11:1 to start with, so a high comp would be like a 12:1 comp ratio. the cam really depends on how you ride, and what your plans for the motor in the future are. if a high comp piston is all you plan to do, i would do a stage 1 intake cam and leave it at that. if you plan to do more motor work you may want to go with a more agressive cam, and do the exhaust cam as well.

i dont plan on doing any work engine work... and how high octane would i have to run with the 12:1

With a cam and 12:1 on the Z you should be able to get away with fresh 93 pump. IF not then you would only have to mix a tiny bit of 100 or so with it.
