For race season this year, these 2 were the front runners of choice as I will not race a solid axle again after racing a IRS. The Renegade was my first choice, and even tho I was getting it for $8900otd (which is steep) I only needed a tether as it is race ready out of the box. So my total cost would be about $8950. Then I assumed it would have the 3 year warenty as a plus. But now it will only have a 6 month warrenty. So now the 525 seems to be more appealing. I can get it for $6900otd or $2000 less then the Renegade. But it will take a bit more to take it to the track. About $800 for Hipers and tires, $250 for nerfs, $150 for front and rear grab bars, and a $50 tether. So $8150 or $800 cheaper in total cost cheaper then the Renegade. Now is the 4x4 and efi worth the $800 extra, I think it is. But is the 202lbs lighter and most likely quicker worth the $800 cheaper? I think it is to. The Outlaw 500 has treated me awesome and has done great in all my races. I raced a Outlander before that, and that was awesome to. So with only $800 being different in price, and it was your choice, what would you do? Both have got rave reviews, so I don't think either way would be a bad choice.

I race some but I ride more for recreation. With that being said I can only afford 1 machine for me. I would rather ride the 525 for recreation then the 800. Hopefully my 525 will be in soon.

How reliable are Can-Am quads? How much does the company stand behind their machines?

Do they release the new models 6 months late and then release the next year model specs 4 months later and kill the trade in/ sale price of their quads?

If they redesign some of the parts on the quad because they are inferior in quality or design do they recall the older models and replace the defective parts?

How about this one: Is your dealer willing to contact the manufacturer and get problems resolved with the quad you purchased?

Just a little food for thought when you make up your mind which quad to buy next. Had I asked these questions and gotten the answers before I purchased my last quad I would have bought something else.
