have not got ahold of an owners manual yet, what does it say the specs should be clearance wise between the piston and the cylinder?

your motor is open. Just throw a new piston in....lol

its not open anymore, i checked it friday when it was apart. just wanted an answer on the question of how much is too much? either way you start losing power the more gap you get.

Why would you open your motor, replace two gaskets, just to check on your piston clearence, and then proceed to put it back together 100% stock?

Maybe I missed something

maybe he just repaced a bearing are something and didnt have the money to put a bunch of new parts in it. and you dont need to replace your gaskets everytime you tear down your motor. about .007 is when you want to put a piston it. :D

i changed valves on friday and had to get it back together for a show on saturday. and i did replace those gaskets too. when it was apart i decided i would check that and .005 isnt enough off of .004 for me to spend more money and miss my race.
