What to do about my clutch cable on my 400ex ? It is routed between my head pipes and it was rough to operate so I replaced it tonight. when I removed it I noticed it was melted and the metal was rusted. The shop had wraped it in heat wrap but that was after it was already melted some. Any ideas ? Thank you in adavance.

Are you running aftermarket headers? Because with my Sparks exhaust it did the same thing. You'll need to get a 300ex or 250x clutch cable, since there longer so you can reroute it;)

I haven't had time to fool around with mine yet... but I'd say some where down your frame or near the bottom motor mounts.

Do you have the aftermarket header or not? If not then it should be fine run right between the head pipes as that is how they come from the factory. If you do, you will need to trace a path for it to run then figure out how long of a cable you need, because chances are the stock length isn't going to work if you re-route it.

Sorry. Yes, I do have aftermarket headers. Pro-circuit T-4 full system.

You'll probably need to get a longer clutch cable and re-route it along the frame or something. Find a path for a cable to follow and figure out how long of a cable you need.
