Sup guys. Im rebuilding my 2001 400ex this winter. So far i have,

wiseco 416 piston

Kibble white valves and valve springs

Hot cam stage 2 cam

Curtis sparks x-6 pipe complete exhaust system

+2 burguard a-arms

Elka front shocks, compression ajustable.

John nattale nerf bars and heel guards

Few questions though. Im about to order a swing arm and a rear shock. Im going with the elka rear shock/linkage and the lonestar swingarm. Im gonna be racing MX this season. With this new engine, should i get the +1 lonestar swing arm or std length? Thanks for the help.

Are your a-arms +2 or +2+1???

If there +2+1, then I'd get the extended swinger, but if not.. then I don't know if it would be a good thing.

I like stock length over extended. The extended swingers make the front end feel heavier.

hmm uhh i think there just +2's. Just regular +2's. Why would it be bad? Oh and also, ive been looking at the posts on this forum about running the 450 carb on a 400ex. I read on one of the posts that, the 400ex jets are the same as the 450 but different size or something. Should i use 400ex jets or 450 jets? Does it matter? What else do i need for this carb to be successful? Thanks.

If you are going to be riding mx then go with the +1 even if you have +2+1 a-arms. The reason for this being is that You want it long and slammed while still having enough clearance and strength. Usually people who ride mx say that the perfect length of swingarm for mx is +1 1/4 in. You can find swingarms at this length at lsr.com and if you go to 400ex parts, scroll down and go to the swingarm length drop down it has 1 1/4 inch and even in parenthesis it says mx recomendation.

haha so far, its keep the stock length swing arm or go 1/1/4. Alright let me try and ask a question where i can get a more specific answer. What is the best swing arm for a 416ex that has +2 +0 a-arms in the front? Im gonna be ordering this stuff on monday so. I need to know. What do you guys think?

I would go with the 1 1/4.
