I want to get a timing chain for when i do my 416 but everyone says "while you have it apart do it". The only problem is that I would have to take apart the bottom end also. I didnt get the gasket for it so is there an easier way to replace the chain or not?

the right side engine cover, clutch outer pressure plate, clutch inner pressure plate, and clutch basket will all have to come off. Also on my 2005, I had to take the oil pump off, not sure on your 2000??
