What a lot of people do too is buy the CR unit and spacer plate. The CR unit is for a 38mm carb. No weird hack job this way.

I just picked up a MOOSE RACING boot-they retail for less than the UPP boot. Guess what? UPP is stamped in the damn thing!
I sell the moose boot! You can buy one from me or any Parts Unlimited dealer.

Let me know-I'll mail you one!

I'm having trouble getting on the boot from the air filter onto my 38mm AS carb. I have tried heating it up and it still refuses to go on.

Ya, that will piss you off in a hurry. You need to get one of those reed spacers and place it on the cylinder side of the reed cage. Does that sound like the solution?

Well my R already came with the 38mm AS carb. I swear I thought I had a spacer on it but I dont see one. I took apart the motor and now putting it back together.

The problem is that the boot doesnt want to fit onto the carb at all. I've gotta look again and make sure I didn't over look the spacer. Even without it, the boot doesnt wanna go on!!!

take and heat the boot up slowly in a large pan of water. with carb and boot in hand, have another person assist you in putting the boot onto the carb. once you gotten in on there, strap it with a zip tie and allow to set over night.
