70-75mph with a 2 stroke?

yeah i had a cr 125 and i would be riding on an old road that was next to the interstate and i could look over and i would be passing some of the slow cars on the intersate.

btw a two stroke has more top end than a four stroke but a four stroke has gobs more torque

ya i no even on my cr80 it felt like i was flying. so i would think a kx250 with a full exhaust and it says it has a little bit of motor work done but not sure what would do way faster than 70-75mph.

ok i see. i thought that you were thinking that it wouldn't go that fast. i agree but if it doesn't have any gearing changes then it won't be any faster on top end unless it couldn't pull the stock gearing

I think the kx250 will do 70-72 tops. My cr125r would do around 67mph so I have to guess the kx250 would do 72mph.

im talkign abotu the two stroke kx250. wiht a ful exhaust and a little bit of engine work but not sure what. in my opinion i think it will do way faster than a cr125, so i think it will top out fast than 72

Power isn't always speed. 75-80 is yz426f territory. I've done high speed runs with 250 two-strokes back in the day with my 125, and they would not pull away that fast in top speed. That is why I guessed 72mph.

how fast are you wanting to go? why does it seem you would be disappointed if you cant go over 72????????????

well a 125 is alot faster than the 400ex and the 400ex does like 67 giveor take a few and the 250 just smokes a 125 so im guessin 75-80

My friend has a 93 CR250 that would pull mid to high 80s. My YZ125 does mid 70's, so im guessing that the KX would do low to mid 80's. BTW the neither the CR or the YZ are stock and both have a little bit more on it than that KX. Also, if you want to say the speeds are BS then ill tell you right now we tested them with a radar gun on a paved road.

What gearing do you have on those bikes? Do you guys know how fast a piped raptor will do? I barely beat my buddies with my yz426f. Stock per stock, the newer 4-stroke mx are significantly faster than 2-strokes mx.

I dont exactly know what gearing my friends bike is but i know mine is stock gearing. The new 4 stroke mx bikes are not exactly faster top speed wise over the 2 stokes. The 4 strokes just have more low end power, better hook up on the dirt, and a wider spread of power. Top speed wise the 4 strokes will pull out in the end because they are pushing a little bit more horsepower stock but it would be a closer race than you would think.
