Hey guys run out side and see if theres a ring around the moon. Theres one where I live just wondering who else could see it!

that happens all the time where i live.. i think it has something to do with clouds and the light being reflected. but it does look pretty weird

Yep, caused by light being reflected by high, thin cirrus clouds.

scro hs it right...it is called a moon halo...it is actually visible quite often...not sure why there is such a big deal about it this time...

People used to say it's also called a Lunar Rainbow. Looks cool though.

Its not the fact that I was so amazed that it was happening...I thought it would be cool to know that someone 500 miles could see the same thing I saw

well, it was made a big deal about on pittsburgh news yesterday morning....seems they received a lot of call about this new wonderous occurance...and my wife made a comment about it last night to....seems she never heard or seen it...even though i have pointed it out to her ona few occasions
