broken reeds

I had a reed valve break and fall down in the crankase on our Kasea.I managed to get it out but there is a small peice missing out of it.Will the small peice do any damage?It is probably the size of a small fingernail clipping.It was an aftermarket set of dual stage reeds that come with the Koso intake kits.
