I have the 416 on my quad and it is extremely reliable. That's why I chose that size. Once my quad needs rebuilt I will go to the 426 than the 440. They are all pretty reliable but the 416 leaves you another bore. I went with 10.5 to 1 compression so I could run pump gas.

I couldn't tell you how just a 416 feels. When I put mine in I also put in a stage 1 hot cam and an edelbrock carb. And yes it was a night and day difference. It will hold it's own against just about anything in the woods. My buddy has a built 250r that I have no problem keeping up with him in the woods. I would never win a drag race against him but that's o.k. I think with the 460 kits you sacrificing some reliabilty and when it comes time for a rebuild it's going to be a lot more$.

The edelbrock carb is worth every penny. All i had to do was put mine on and start it up the jetting was right on. And edelbrock has awesome cust. service. Plus if you do need to adjust the jetting they are super easy.

well if you go with the 460 kit, it actually costs less than to rebuild the motor stock again. But as for reliability I couldn't tell you how long it will last.

Don't waste your time with Edelbrock.....coming from experience. I had one in mine for a while. It was nice until I switched. I put a 450r carb in mine and noticed a huge difference in performance all around.

They are extremely easy to install, and are also much cheaper! There are a couple installation guides on this site. I will see if I can pull one up for you. Even for the Edelbrock you are gonna need to do a few mods if you plan on running thumb throttle, you cannot reach WOT without grinding out some of your throttle box. IMO, the 450r is the best bang for your buck.

As for sites, Service Honda has them for sale new, or you can shop around here or at ebay, to name a few. There are quite a few of them floating around.
