I was wondering if any of u guys out there have interest in car stereo systems? Im pretty sure the younger generation is more interested in this sort of thing but u never know. heres some pics of my system. I have a Sony deck with a CD player and an MP3 jack. Also I have a Sony10 disc changer to compliment the deck. In the back under my seats i have two 10 inch subs running at 900 watts. I installed the entire thing myself and its still working somehow. What do u guys have?

Two 12inch Rockfard Fosgates, Rockfard Amp, Sony Head unit, and Sony Speakers. I really don't care for it any more. So now if I sell it I can have more money for my quad.:D

Yeah, the sub is rated for 1800w but I am deff not going to be running the full 1440w because I am a little leary about the woofer self destructing.

Back in '02, I used to have a 2000 Chevy Camaro Z28. I had a bad arse system in it and hit 140+somethin dB's at a sound comp. Me and a friend of mine were in abilene a big city an hour away from us and i decided i would enter, and what do ya know i won. I had a JVC KD-LH1000 head unit. I had Kicker 6.5 components in the doors, Kicker 6x9's in the back. In the trunk i had 2 Rockford Fosgate RFR2112 Power HX2 which are 1000watts RMS and 2000watts peak a peice! and 2 Rockford Fosgate RFP Punch HX2 which are rated 1000watts peak and 500watts RMS. I had 1 Power and 1 Punch hooked up to a Power BD1001, so I had 2 BD1001 together. I had 2 Rockford Fosgate 1Farad digital caps. Also still have 2 Rockford Fosgate QTweeters, which costed me $100 new.(for sale by the way) I think that pretty much sums it up.

Thats acutally not that much. My 2 12"s push 1900. A guy I use to work w/ had 2 10" mtx 8500's...Now that is loud. Or 4 15" re audio's are loud :p. But, 1800-1900 isnt really that loud.

You do know that the MTX 8500's is the model name, not the amount of watts they put out right? Just lettin ya know...

Just remember that just because it "says" it does it doesn't mean that it pushes that kind of power all the time, or is even a very accurate number. Car audio is one of these things if an amp benches at 1400w for a milisec before it implodes they can post that number.

My work in progess. Alpine 9855 (gotta love 4v preouts), Alpine 10.2" Flipdown, Nine.1 (1400w @ 14.4V yes I've benched it), Nine.4, and substage is undecided.

alot of people get all worked up about peak power ratings they dont mean jack in a car stereo, only thing someone should be interested in is the rms. I had a decent system, kicker components, mtx subs, mtx amps. I am a firm beleiver in dont cheap out on wiring i had a little over 400 in just my wiring for it all. I truely beleive you get what you pay for in that department. I ran a pretty simply head unit a pioneer- 860mp had great adjustments that really made me able to tune the system. Heck i've seen people with great systems and with cheap headunit's i never understood that. They couldn't adjust anything, I love having the ability to adjust the eq. for my liking and not have preset ones.
