Last I heard, sleds didn't have a fuel pump. Am I behind the times?

sell it and buy a ski doo

But it sounds like its not getting fuel. Try cleening the carbs. new fuel pump also. They are a mechanical pump that operates off crank case pressure. They are cheep. If that doesent work you could have bad crank seals.

Damn killer bees!

Last weekend I got to race my pa's ZRT 800 against by cousins new MXZ 800 Blizzard. He killed me off the line but once that big tripple got rolling I cought and passed him. I would not be afraid to say that his is the faster trail sled. The ZRT is the lake king:macho

he has striped the carbs and cleaned them all, when you let it idol it reves way up there and then dies, it might be the crank seals. but im not sure, ant thing els, i thought that it would be the base gasket

there is air gettin in somewhere making it lean....that is wut is happening. the jetting might be lean too...i dunno, but it is very very lean

ok, do you think that its a gasket or the crank seals?

when he redid the engine did he have to split the cases?

they might have not been put together correctly, or there might be a gasket leak in there...

it is most likely in the crankcase not the top end or bottom end gasket....but it might be the bottom end gsket.

it if was any of those gaskets thoght, u would probably see water leaking through....so idoubt it is the head or base gasket.

then i would take the carbs apart again, and give them a super cleaning...use compressed air and blow it through all the passages...make sure there is no clogs...

also, make sure that the float bowl is sealing completely to the rest of the carb when u bolt it back together....

did he change the jetting? add anythinng that would require a change in jetting?

im guessing either crank seals or carb boots (betwen carb and engine. As mentioned before, it is sucking in air creating a lean situation.
