Im lookin for another 400ex in my area and daym, they are expensive. I look in the classified section on this forum and I see 400's back east for way cheaper then they are around here. Whats up with that?

Sorry, just a little vent.:blah:

Have a good one everyone.

how much?

well:

05 stock no extras like paddles, $4100
03 stock no extras like paddles, $3500
01 with bolt-ons and a helmet, $3800

Am I being unreasonable?

I just see these things listed here for a lot less on the classifieds section.

Maybe its because a lot of these bikes are garage queens and don't have many hours on them where as back east, people actually ride their quads..? I have no idea.

I live in Washington... and there just as expensive:( It's almost temping to ship a quad over here and I'm sure it will still be alot cheaper then buying one around here.

One word: RUST.

California/Arizona/Nevada vehicles always get better resale prices because there is hardly ever a spot of rust or corrosion on them. I've seen some of the east coast stuff, and I wouldn't touch the majority of it.

Corrosion is a good point. I bumped into a guy that had a side business of going east to buy a trailer-load of quads and bringing them back to AZ to sell. They all looked like hell--never saw a clean one among them. It would have taken A LOT of time/work to get them (mostly) rust free.

All of us over here on the east coast just ride or stuff to it breaks and buy new. No need to clean or maintain them.

The nicest weather here is from september to december, usually its between 70-80 and there is little to no wind. Summer time is great too but its foggy in the morning and usually there is some wind in the afternoon nothing serious though. From january to may its hit or miss with rain, your best bet is to check weather.com and use 93420 for the area code.
