Me and my dad are interested in buying a new grizzly 660, they look really awesome, but I've have just found out today that they have had some overheating problems and stuff. No one around here has one so I would like to know how relaible they are. I know the quad would suit what we would need it for, so that's not a problem.

So if anyone here could help us out that be great.

and we're not to interested in the rincon because of its looks, price, and it has a plastic bumper

thanks in advance

My uncle got his about a year ago and so far the only thing that has happened is that he fouled the plug, not really a big deal. The engine does get very hot because of the black covers on the sides of the engine not letting any air in. You can try taking the off and see if that helps, the Grizz is awesome. Castor-400EX, get the Rubicon? Its nice but its only $100 less and 160cc less, has drum brakes (not that thats a big problem), and it isnt as sexy as the Grizz.

i ride with both..in my opinion from what ive seen the rubicon is better in the woods.. the grizz is faster...but i dont think it has as much torque..

im not a fan of belted auto trannies too...lol so ok...

I've got one with almost 400 miles on it. I haven't had any trouble with it at all. I do baby mine though. I use it to check fence lines on the farm. I'm looking to trade it for another sport quad. I'm going to be building a track with the new tractor (front end loader/backhoe) I bought so I figure I'd get more use out of a sport quad. I had a 400ex at one time.

GET THE NEW RINCON!!! it weighs under 600lbs and has IRS, 650cc's and a HOOD SCOOP!!! WHAT OTHER UTILITY QUADS DO YOU KNOW OF THAT HAVE A HOOD SCOOP??? THAT THING IS TRICKIN'!

The Rincon looks tough to beat, but I have never rode one. The Kawi650 is better than the Grizz.

It is all subjective. I really hated the fact you had to hold a lever down to lock the front diff on the Kawi 650. If I'm stuck in the mud OFF the quad trying to rock it. I rather have it locked and stand on the right hand side of the quad using one hand on the right grip. Plus if you ever want to tow something you don't have a hitch built in like you do on the Grizz..... They are both good quads though.

yeah you're right vamangano I didnt think about having to hold down the lever when you're tryin to get unstuck, I know you can engage it on the fly for the 650, but can you engage it will moving on the grizz?

justfine why do you think the prairie is better than the grizz, it seems to me that they have the same features, except the grizz has much more ground clearance, plus I think the grizz looks faster to, the prairie seems kinda like a box in the front

No you can't engage the diff lock while moving. I haven't really noticed it since I've only used diff lock if I became stuck so I was already stopped. PLUS you need to be SUPERMAN to turn while diff lock is on. Like I said on a previous post. They are BOTH good quads. Get on both and plop the $7000 on the one you like the best :)

i know ppl with all of these machines and i think it is all preferance. i do know for a fact that a griz can keep up with or beat a 400 in a drag.

They say the Rincon is the best in stock form, and they say it is so resticted that a pipe will do wonders for it.
