yep.. get some long studs and go throu the tire. That way they wont pull out. They will leak a tiny bit of air. but will hold up for a day at a time

i have 1 inch kold cutter pro gold ice screws in a set of chin shin rears. haven't lost one yet and still in great shape. one big thing to keeping them sharp is never drive them on any thing but ice. always change tires on the ice. the telephone number for kold cutter is 8106530001

well my neihgbor has cheng shins with half inch screws in em...so they are probably goin to rip out like a mother...but thery are not used and on 8 inch rims. he jus had to sell his 450 so now he gave em to me for pretty much nothing. can i replace them with one inch? or should i just run a different set up?

if it was me and i was planning on running in competition i would buy a hole new setup, 8 inch rims and tires with new 1 inch screws. if i were just going out to have some fun with buddies and try it i would buy a box of one inch screws and replace the half inchers. the cost difference would be about 150 buck. and if you like it and decide to buy new tires you can reuse the screws.
i don't know if anyone ever told you but when we stud tires we put about 40 psi in the tire, the theory is that when you back the air pressure down to about 12 psi for rideing the tightens in around the screw. don't know if it is true but our studs are all holding very well.
