400ex hood?

I know people have the race hood on stock style plastic, but on the maier website it says that there hood is made for the race cut/style plastic. I was wondering is it hard to put the hood on the stock style plastic, and what all does this involve? The race cut plastic is not an option since I race XC.

It should. I think it just is not cut for headlights.

I wanted the hood to eliminate the headlight hole. I already have the wiring taken off and the headlight removed. I wanted to cut the plastic and put the hood in, just did not know if anyone had done that before.

Pappy i just wanted to say again that quad looks nice ;) Yea, i would go the way pappy has said, another option is quadtech or feather. there hoods are high, i think the quadtech hoods are dicontinued but the feather hoods look good just b/c they are carbon fiber.

I may get one like on Pappy's bike, it looks sweet. I just got my 400EX about two months ago. If I go another two months without using the headlight then I'll buy one.

Here is a pic of mine. it wasn't that hard to put on. the more time u spend on it the better it looks in the end.
