300ex

you can get lots of stuf for them, they are cheap, very reliable, nice power for 14 year old,and reverse.

what riding are you going to be doing?

yeah a 300ex would be good but the 400ex is always an option...just make sure you get a honda

I got my 400ex (first quad) when I was 13 (im now 14), it's almost been one year since i've gotton my quad i got it in january of 2006, a 400ex should be a good first quad, it's a bit powerful but take it easy first and you'll finally get used to it.

that is true. i dont know what kind of riding he dose. if u realy want reverse then go for the 300ex but i u can sacrifice reverse for a bit more power and better suspention/handling then i would go for the 400ex.

Well.. if he ever plans on hitting the dunes.. I'd reccomend a 400ex personally.

The dunes (especially the Wynoka, OK style) suck the ever living HP out of the 300ex.. lol.

Here's mt final reccomendation. Wichever one you can find in the best shape under $2000.. go for it. If you can find both.. get the 400ex (actually an easier quad to ride IMHO).

for a 14 year old i say a 300ex. i raced a 300ex when i was 13-15 and i still have it and ride it as a practic bike and its a mud bike for the races.

if your talking about mine hell's ya lol. you would never think that it runs with z400s in a drag. toasted a blaster in 3rd. prolly the funest bike i ever rode and the oldest.

that is what i was gettin ready to say cuz they are a good beginners quad and with a few mods they can stomp a 300ex plus they are so light that you can just pick them up to turn them around

i am 14 also so i can kinda see where you are coming from

ok a 300ex is better than a blaster, and why spend money on upgrades when he can get a 300 which faster, and more reliable, and if he decides to go for motor mods the 300 has more potential, not looking for an argument just giving my point of view

blasterfreak99
01-04-2007, 02:43 PM
i understand but the blaster will probably be cheaper than a 300 ex and in my mind they are more responsive to mods plus parts for the blaster are cheaper

and yes stock for stock the 300 ex is a better quad but if you put the same amount of money into each then the blaster will probably be a better quad (depending on the mods)

i have seen dynographs of Sparks 330 kits making 33-34 hp. another 6hp is not too far out of reach.

I dont think you'll see 40+ hp out of a blaster without at least a race ported head, all the bolt on goodies, a big carb, and another 20-30cc in displacement. oh, and lots of compression.

both are good machines, blaster is better on a budget.

i just thought of something 2k will buy a lot of blasters so when 1 sh.its out you can just walk to ur barn and get another blaster.just something to think about

i don't doubt that...but that's a drag motor. i'm talking about motors/setups that you can still play ride. a drag bike, a real one anyways, is a very purpose-built bike. 2 strokes will always make more peak power than 4, but you're comparing apples to oranges.

and for what its worth, i dont see any dynographs on their page.......

wel can't you see that he is geting a 450. i am pretty sure that he would sell a 300ex to get a new 450 and so would just about the rest of the world

ok, im gettin sick of arguin with you guys, the fact of the matter is the kid wanted an opinion of what he should get, he said he likes 300's he lives on a farm so he probably wants reverse, he wants to put a rack on it which is better suited for a 300 opposed to a blaster, all in all, hes gona get more of what he wants with the 300, he can find 1 for 1000 and then put 1000 in it and have a nice bike or buy a newer one, so you can argue with me till you turn blue tryin to defend the blaster but the kids gona get what he wants, anything will be an improvement over a 90cc

blasterfreak99
01-06-2007, 06:38 PM
man just calm down we weren't arguing (well i wasn't) like you said in one of your previous posts we were just stating our opinions. i am sorry. i didn't see the post where he said he rode on a farm and wanted to put racks on it, in that case yes get a 300 ex

Ruby Soho
01-06-2007, 07:57 PM
i would get the 400ex if hes going to do trail riding / dunes / jumping. your going to want the power without modding it like crazy.

the 300ex is good though, it will probably be fine for him

250exkid
01-07-2007, 10:31 AM
2 answer the kids question just get a 250ex there motors are bullet proof and perfect for on a farm. me and my friend both live on farms and we both have the little 250ex and there just fine you dont need to do 90mph on a farm 52MPH is just fine pluse im putting mudlights on it so a 250ex wih my mods listed would be fine on a 250ex so my idea just get a 250ex.

Xater
01-07-2007, 02:28 PM
i think he should get a 300ex. overall its better than a stock blaster. BUT the blaster has alot more potental.

DJR300ex
01-07-2007, 03:45 PM
a 300ex would be the best choice. and the blaster does have a lot more potental than a 300. ive seen some freakin fast blasters that will keep right up with banshees

250exkid
01-07-2007, 03:56 PM
the thing is i live on a farm to..... we both dont need FREAKIN FAST QUADES even tho it would be really cool to dont get me rong! but a 250ex is fine and yes i jump mine and stuff to
