Yes I did, but all you have to do is add 200mL of oil from what the manual says, and you wont get it anymore.

Do you add the 200mL to the crankcase or the oil tank?

It doesn't matter as they all mix together anyway.

Some have had success with the 200ml and some haven't. It's always a good idea to add an additional 200ml anyway to most sport quads.

Very FIRST ride with new bike this past Sat. WITH 300 CCs more oil & got the whine once. Changed the oil when I got home & will take it out again this Sat. to try to finish break-in so I can go to Amsoil. Ray.

Im trying the oil without much hope. I just dont see mechanically how changing the oil level will solve this. It cant be a lubrication issue. What i really want is an "official" comment from Suzuki. If adding oil sloved this problem they certainly would have acknowledged it and informed dealers / ltr owners how to fix it. Chances are it is a design flaw that cant be remedied cheaply. Remember this is a rm450 motor (4 speed) that they shoehorned a 5 speed in for the quad. Id suspect it has something to do with that transformation. Only good news seems to be that it is more of an annoyance than anything. Dont see many, if any, failures reported and it doesnt hamper performance.

What fustrates me as a guy coming from motocross (2 wheelers) is the lack of info on these things. If this was an issue on a new bike the dealers would know about it and have a fix. This is proven time after time in the mx world.... Or some of the major perf shops would have solved it for them by now. Maybe there isnt enough of these things sold????

other than that this thing is awsome.

Somewhere in pages section "5" I think it was 5-12 or something

distributing additional 200ml into both caps will help you 90%

I put "NO" because:

When it was brand new it whined. It whined after I changed the oil for the 1st time. I rode it somemore and it still whined.
I put in Honda HP Gold bottle and it still whined. Next oil change I put Honda Black bottle and it hasn't whined since. I've changed the oil every 6-7 hours or so and it hasn't come back after an additonal 4 oil changes.

It was only present the first 2 months. Its been 6 months or so whine free.
