A spark plug won't really cause a knock, it could be "spark knock" which is really detonation, or pinging.. could be from bad gas/low octane, could be running lean, I see you have the K&N, did you rejet after that? could be the additional flow is making it run lean, making it run hotter and causing the pinging.

I am fairly new to all of this, but from my car/race car knowlage, thats what I would be checking...

How does the plug look? nice light browish color? White? Orangish?

take it easy, good luck

if your engine is knocking check your jetting and try a higher octane fuel.

The plug is black and i was told that you don't need to rejet just for a filter. I dealer it was last at, put oil in it. Wrong oil? I have no mods but the filter.

PLease help

Well if you put in a k&n i think you should try rejetting since its knocking. Also ask the dealer what oil they put in and check the level of it. The jetting should fix the problem. If not go with higher octane gas. what octane do u run now?

regular unleaded 87. Is there like a mixture screw i should turn?
It only knocks after it is warmed up also.

MAN dont be cheap and pay the extra pennies and get premium! You should always run premium anyway just to be safe.

heres the deal. I took off my K&N filter and put the stock one back on. I put a new spark plug in it. After riding for about an hour or so, i took out the plug. The part with threads is black. The little tab is white. Is this normal?

for a stock quad that is normal because they come a little lean from the factory for emission purposes.

DO I LEAVE IT THE WAY IT IS, OR DO I NEED TO TURN THE MIXTURE SCREW.

I know it costs a little more, but always use Premium Fuel. Because of the decent compression and the air cooling, these motors can detonate pretty easily.

Do i need to turn the mixture screw? I heard that running lean causes engine damage.
