Whats the best all around tire for this bike? I've been told that Holeshots are the way to go, but where I ride there is a lot of mud, I NEED BETTER GRIP!!

I use just the regular 4ply razor's and I ride in muddy conditions all the time and they hook up awsome too! In my opion if I ever do switch to another tire it would be the holeshot HD's. I've had past experiance with these also and I loved em! the reason I went with the razor's this time is because it was cheaper for me to go this route. and I don't have any complaints about either of them!

I just bought Holeshot HDs. Most guys seem to really recommend them. So far I love them.

they suck...my tires literally got shredded just from normal riding, and they wear fast too

Weight hasn't been an issue. I probably eat more than they add for lunch.:D

lets add alot of tire roll, poor puncture resistance and thier hefty price tag

+1

I've always had good luck with razrs and razII's

the 2's seem to work better than regular razrs in the real muddy ruts and creek beds.
never had the 2 on the front yet though, ive heard nothin but good about it though.

I run Razr2 rear and Reg. Razr's in the front, good combo and awesome hook up.

Whatever you go with though, make sure its 6 ply!

the 4ply razors hold up just fine! A lot of the muddy trails I do ride in are old clear cuts and skid trails that have a bunch of sticks and all kinds of other things in there. And I have never once gotten a flat with them yet...(knock on wood) but I did get a few flat tires though with the stockers.

Not sayin the 4 ply are bad or nothing, just 6 ply will wear slower and not puncture as easy.

for an all around tire i would seriously consider the kenda klaws. my dad and i both have them on our 400's and they have great hook up on almost any surface and they're reversible to suit what you're riding on. we have them going forward for summer and backwards for winter. the price is much lower than a lot of others too and they're still 6 plys.

YOu have got to be kidding. :eek2:

Stock tires wear out from the dealership floor to when you load it on the trailer to take it home.

Exactly. I'm not going to argue, b/c I don't really care. I always keep a set on stock wheels for when I ride woods. Nice open tread that doesn't get caked w/ mud, plus they're fairly light. Sure, the ohtsus have a few plugs in them, but I can run them anywhere. I've run them for mx when I first got into it, rode them at hatfield mccoy numerous times, local woods, sand pits, and dragstrips. Like I said, best "all around" tire. I don't see too many of the woods tires that have been mentioned go from mud, to sand, and then to a 300ft drag. Other than my holeshot mx's, the ohtsus are the only tire I would put on my 400.

The only real downfalls the tire has is puncture resistance and price. I don't rock climb w/ my quad, so I'm not overly concerned w/ having to put a plug in every now and then. And about the price, w/ everyone disliking them so much, its not hard to find some new takeoffs at a descent price.;)

Any tire that wears out as fast as Honda OEM's cannot be considered a "best" anything.

Other than a "best" revenue generator for the tire manufacturer.

They wear just fine for me. Sure, there are tires that wear slower than the Ohtsus, but they have their flaws as well. Let's face it, there is no perfect tire out there.

I agree with what bigfish said regarding them as well........

i have BKT Xdrivs on mine n theyre cheap and good i think they are like a cheaper razr cause my friend has razrs on his blaster and the tread on them both are almost exactly the same

I have the Razr II's on front and rear. They hook up awesome in the mud, snow, and sand. I have been on trails & have been to the dunes with them & they are awesome. I would recommend them.

IMO they don't look good and they don't belong on a sport quad. to me, they should have a low profile high performance tire on them....JMO

I have Pure Sports Bandits. These tires are the BEST all-around tire in my opinion! They hook up in the mud, loose dirt, anything you find, the bandits will conquer it, they are also HARD, therefore they don't wear.

i always used kenda bear claws. I never had any problems with them. I used 22 by 12 by 10s. they clean out realy well and dont wear out quickly at all.
