I have a 2007 400ex and I found a warn winch for it. I need a little info here from you guys! Is there anybody out there that has added a winch to a 400ex? My major concern is the generator/alternator output. These are sport not utility bikes so I'm guessing the output isn't a whole lot. I'm concerned about possibly burning out or weakening the generator if I do this. Write back and let me know what you think!

as long as its not a big winch you should be fine, but on the other hand if its not that big how much use will it be to you, i'd just keep a rope or something for others to pull you with

just my 0.02

the 400ex is light enought to push ur self out of most trouble and if u are worried about getting stuck ride with a wrecker ( what we call the one 4x4 we ride with) if u ride with someone a rope or chain will be fine with u pushing or wire the winch with a disconnect so u can cut the power to the winch and connect it to run it

you would need a different stator. realy if u have some good rear tires and know the muddy areas u should be fine. sports quads wernt ment for deep mud but i dont see aproblem with a winch. only make it a little heavier for jumping though

it should be fine to put a winch on your 400ex.. you shouldnt have to worry about the stator.. its probably better if you get your rewound so it charges faster when you have to use your winch.. but other then that.. you shouldnt have a problem with power output..
