My quad keeps trying to die every now and then. It runs fine but some times it just trys to die and you have to keep giving it a little gas to stay running. It willl idle sometimes and other times it will not.

I did adjust my idle up and that is not the problem, its seems like something is shorting out and its trying to kill the engine.

What kind of maintenance do you do to the bike? You probably need to take the carb off and inspect and clean it very good. Go through it and make sure everything is moving smoothly. Check the air/fuel screw...should be 2-1/2 - 3 for stock.

i put in a new throttle cable on mine a while ago and there was two places to put it in the carb on the little wheel. of course i didnt take note of where it came from and i put it in the wrong one and it ran like crap. if you messed with that change it to the other one.

Try taking the gas cap off next time it happens. The air valve on the cap may be bad. Do you have an aftermarket short hose with valve on the gas cap? I've seen those go bad as well. Both will disrupt gas flow out of the tank.

try putting a little play in the cable

take your throttle sensor out and see if it will idle.
