I have a KX125 with a 190cc top end and i want a quad. I race mx, and im thinking about getting a 250r complete roller and put my kx motor in it, how would that hybrid do?

it would pretty much suck unless you weigh 100 lbs. and the 250r rollers frame was titanium and everything else was carbon fiber. i just dont think 125's have enough bottom end.

That would be lame? Sell the kx125 and buy a kx500 if you want to put a bike motor in a quad.

i never rode a 190 but i heard they get up and go pretty good...can they beat a 250 2 stroke (all stock)?

puting a dirbike motor from a smaller bike in a chassis still takes some motor work. You will want to make sure for pulling all the added weight that your making that motor tough enough to with stand the abuse it will be taking.
what the heck!I think its sound like a cool build, just do it right from the get-go :)

yes my 190 will outrun an all stock 250 2 stroke. Its all built completely right, proffessionally, new head and everything, nothing cheap and crappy.

If people are racing 400ex's with cr85 motors, then a 125 motor should be even better yet...dahh..:D

after thinking a doing some math it could work with the right amount of power from the motor but it needs to have a full racish motor. it needs the works to pull the quad and u around. port and polish the big bore. good pipe. race shaved head. if u race mx then u know what has to be done to this but i say if u want a 2 stroke sell the 125 and get a 250r or if u realy want a hybrid 2 stroke put a lt250r motor in a trx250r or 250r motor in a 400ex.

We had one built a couple of years ago, it was fast, way lighter then regular quads, and it would smoke any thing in the 300-400 class. the only problem was it viberated alot due to the lack of a counterbalancer. The next year we had a rmz 250 motor put in the frame, and it solved the problem, and it was really fast. KOQ racing did all the work and it was great.
